There are a thousand ways to write an About Us page. The thing is, while we most certainly care about our image, we do not want to mislead anyone by trying to sound bigger or in any way different than we are. That being said…

This company was started with one true intention in 2005. To provide mobile audio recording and production services to musicians all over New Jersey. Well…that most certainly did not last long. To be specific, it didn’t even last a full year! The reason was not that we weren’t good at it, it was that the reputation of our founder was already established as a growing Home Audio/Video specialist where the clients who knew him from his last job hunted him down for their next home AV project. Some of them are still our clients today in 2025 :).

Tim Manning started his professional career in 1998 after years of dabbling in home electronics, car audio, and being a musician. Endless summers were spent volunteering for local non-profits such as Basking Ridge’s Plays in the Park running sound and Charter Day organizing the local High School’s Battle of the Bands for almost 15 years.

Fast forward a few years and he was joined by our first team member, John Monteiro who is still leading our field technicians today. John developed a very similar reputation throughout the years as a reliable and knowledgable tech of whom clients have come to love.

Eventually, Wavelength Audio Video’s reputation for residential and commercial audio video systems grew and became one of the most reliable companies in northern New Jersey to design, build, and service automation systems.

In 2015 we became a Platinum Control4 dealer and expanded our wings to projects that far exceeded our original expectations. Managed Networks, Game Rooms, Landscape Lighting, Architectural Lighting, Shades, and so many more awesome skills were unleashed.

Wavelength has grown and evolved throughout the years, but there are two things that have absolutely not changed: our attention to our clients needs and the passion of our team.

We were having serious Wi-Fi issues in the house. We finally decided to take some action. We upgraded our old FiOS and Wi-Fi routers, but weren’t getting nearly the speed that we should be receiving. After talking with several friends, they highly recommended Wavelength AV. I called the firm. As soon as I shared my story, it was quite obvious that they had dealt with these types of issues many times in the past. John, one of their technicians came to the house and did a walk-through looking at our equipment, understanding our wiring, the house structure, etc. John came back with a complete recommendation that we reviewed and accepted. John and his team were very professional, clean, neat and answered any questions that we had. I especially appreciated the follow up call and email that I received from John to verify that everything was working as we anticipated.

I had a new 4k tv installed about a week ago. John Monteiro one of their lead installers did a great job did all my passwords and connected me to my wireless network . He explained how the new LG remote worked and hooked up a 4k Amazon Fire tv to the Denon AV player . After he left I realized that my Apple TV was not 4k so I ordered one . When it arrived I tried to install it myself .John even called me on a Sunday and tried to talk me through . I failed miserably. John came back and got it all to work and at no charge!! You simply do not get better customer support . They are the very best.

I wouldn’t look elsewhere for audio-video solutions. I interviewed a number of reputable higher end A-V businesses in the Morris County area and had 3 different ones actually come out to my home to propose a plan for an outdoor living space (wanted an outdoor TV, speakers, etc). There is a lot that goes into this including how you plan on getting wiring out there, do you stream exclusively or do you get cable out there, hiding all the cable boxes and wires, positioning things so sound is optimized, etc. They have access to all the top outdoor equipment (Seura, Sonance, etc). This was the only company that listened to what I wanted and then built on it to produce a product that was beyond my wildest expectations. They love what they do and it shows. Their quotes are very competitive but it was their service that blew others away. Tim and John were outstanding and I will go back to them for my indoor needs down the road. And Beth was so easy to work with. Any question I had they were quick to answer even after the project was done. They stay in communication for any issue that might arise down the road. Their vision is extraordinary. 5+ stars!!
